Crash tested dog car crate for two dogs

Thule Allax Double is designed for secure car travel and has been crash tested to help protect your dogs. The innovative crumple zone provides 11–17 cm of additional space at the rear of the crate, even when the crate is set to its lowest position.

In a rear-end collision, the crumple zone compresses to help absorb impact energy. This helps manage the forces generated in a collision and provides additional protection for the dogs.

Thule Allax Double has been tested at the Thule Test Center and is TÜV SÜD certified.

Two dogs or one larger dog

Thule Allax Double is designed for flexible use. The removable divider separates the crate into two individual travel spaces for two dogs.

When travelling with one larger dog, the divider can be removed completely. It can also be positioned at an angle to create more space on one side when travelling with dogs of different sizes.

Choosing the correct dog crate size is important for your dogs' comfort, safety and wellbeing during travel. Dogs should have enough room to sit, stand, turn around and lie down naturally inside the crate.

The crate should not be unnecessarily large, however, as excessive space can allow a dog to slide or move around too much during travel.

Will Thule Allax Double fit your vehicle?

Measure your vehicle's cargo area carefully before choosing a crate. The adjustable depth makes fitting easier, but the dimensions and shape of the cargo area should still be checked.

1. Measure the cargo depth

Measure the distance from the back of the rear seats to the end of the cargo floor. In hatchbacks and SUVs, also check where the tailgate begins to curve inward.

2. Measure the cargo height

Measure from the cargo floor to the lowest point of the door, tailgate or roof. Take note of any low edges or structural features that could interfere with the crate.

3. Check the tailgate threshold height

Thule Allax fits vehicles with a tailgate threshold of up to 40 mm.
